Amidst the pool parties and barbecues this Memorial Day, take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who died in service to our country by visiting the Veterans Tribute Memorial at Community Park, 3601 S. 14th Street.
The theme for National Public Works week (May 18-24), “People, Purpose, Presence,” highlights three cornerstone ideals that motivate public works professionals to serve in their communities every day. Meeting the needs of people is what gives public works its sense of purpose.

He is a well-rounded student from Midlothian High School and his major mantra of his life so far is his love for music that has propelled him to numerous awards, and it’s now leading him to a bright future in music education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth in the fall.

The 8th Street Dance made its return to downtown Midlothian Saturday night, after a two-year hiatus due to construction.
In its second time considering the matter, the Midlothian City Council Tuesday night approved a zoning change to allow for a residential development north of Tower Road and west of FM 663. After a discussion that lasted for more than an hour, the council approved a zoning change for an 81.5-acre property from Agricultural to a planned development for single-family residential uses.
A police pursuit involving a suspected stolen vehicle ended in a fatal collision in Midlothian at midday on Sunday, resulting in the driver’s death and lane closures on northbound U.S. Highway 287, according to officials.
