Ellis County commissioners have appointed veterinarian Susan M. Heath as the Local Rabies Control Authority in accordance with the Texas Rabies Control Act of 1981.

Rural Heritage Farm plans improvements
The Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm has announced plans to improve the western side of the 145-acre farm located west of Waxahachie. The current focus of the farm is for people to experience a living history of late 19th and early 20th century farm families with events at the farm headquarters, and tours of the 1913 McKinney Aday Farmhouse located on the eastern side of the property.
