A massive overhaul of city codes was on the agenda at Tuesday night’s regular meeting of the Midlothian City Council. Councilmembers narrowly approved amendments to the city fire code, and also amended seven areas in the city’s building regulations.

Blind and partly-sighted visitors to Midlothian’s Mockingbird Nature Park can now listen to descriptions of the park’s flora through the free Navilens App thanks to the Indian Trail Master Naturalists and a grant from Midlothian Community Development Corporation. Located at 1361 Onward Road, Mockingbird Nature Park encompasses 62 acres that were donated to the City of Midlothian by Holcim Cement in 2008.
