Midlo business aims to keep veterans cool

A Midlothian business is stepping up to do its part to assist veterans in Ellis County who might be facing difficulty due to recent government cutbacks. Dial One Johnson Plumbing Cooling & Heating is donating labor for the installation of a dozen air conditioning units for Serenity Veterans Village, which provides housing to homeless veterans in Ellis County.

School board recognizes legacy of Public Library

A decades-long relationship between the City of Midlothian and Midlothian Independent School District was recognized with a resolution presented by the school board to Mayor Justin Coffman, Becky Shuffield, Midlothian Public Library Board president, and Alexis Tackett, library director, at Monday night’s school board meeting. With the opening of the new City Hall and Library, the school board acknowledged the library’s history as a partnership with MISD since 1984.
