ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Anaheim Ducks signed John Klingberg to a one-year, $7 million contract on Friday, landing the top defenseman on the NHL free agent market.

Two of the most determined, talented, young drivers in NASCAR put on a show for the ages in the closing laps of Saturday’s Explore the Pocono Mountains 225 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway with 24-year-old Noah Gragson ultimately holding off Ty Gibbs, 19, by the blink of an eye to take the victory.

Welcome back to football. The Cowboys open training camp practices Wednesday in Oxnard, Calif. It’s coach Mike McCarthy’s third season running the show, but only his second with camp starting in Oxnard. This is the first time in McCarthy’s tenure with things close to a normal training camp experience.

SEATTLE — The Texas Rangers agreed to terms with former AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel on a minor league contract on Monday. Keuchel, 34, had stints earlier this season with the Chicago White Sox and Arizona before getting released by both teams.

In past years, I have eagerly awaited my yearly fishing trip up north to the remote fly in lakes in northern Saskatchewan. Thanks to the opening of the U.S./Canada border, I was once again able to make the trek up north to fish. This past week I went way up north to within a stone’s throw of the Northwest Territories.
