The Panthers of Midlothian (6-6 overall and 2-0 in District 15-5A) traveled across town to play the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars (10-6 overall and 0-2 in District 15-5A) on Thursday, March 13 at Heritage High School. This was the series between the two that had kicked off the 2025 district play for both teams.
The Midlothian Lady Panthers are rolling in District 15-5A softball play, with five straight victories.
The coaches of District 15-5A recently announced the voting for the girls’ basketball all-district teams, and Midlothian ISD schools were well-rewarded. Senior Ava Batty was named the district’s Most Valuable Player.
The Midlothian ISD was proud to have both of their outstanding tennis programs (Midlothian High and Heritage High) join forces to put on an outstanding day of tennis for the community, and they welcomed a total of 15 teams as participants in their annual Midlothian Invitational Tourney held on Thursday, March 6. This is the largest tennis tournament held in Midlothian, and their city is fondly called “Tennis Town”.
The Class 5A soccer playoffs begin next weekend, and both Midlothian High School elevens celebrated their District 15-5A championship sweeps in a big way with a warm-up sweep over Grapevine on Tuesday at MISD Multipurpose Stadium.
District 15-5A baseball play began with a bang for the two Midlothian ISD rivals on Tuesday night as the game went into extra innings. The Midlothian Panthers ultimately prevailed, 6-5, in the bottom of the ninth over the Heritage Jaguars at Ronnie Clanton Field in the first leg of a district home-and-home series.

On Tuesday night, March 4 at Midlothian High School’s home soccer field, the Panthers (11-4-3 overall and 7-1-3 in District 15-5A) welcomed the Ennis Lions (3-7-2 overall and 4-10-2 in district play) for the final district home game of the year. As both teams prepared for the game, they were “blessed” with a springtime breeze wafting across the field (ha, ha) and through the bleachers at a constant 40 to 50 miles per hour.
The Heritage High School girls’ soccer team is headed to the playoffs, but were needing some help from their crosstown rivals on Friday to jump from a fourth seed to a third.
