RED OAK — The Midlothian Panthers had to reach back for some more Panther Magic last Friday night to keep their drive for a district championship alive.

WEST — The Heritage Jaguars powered on into the Class 5A Division II area round on Monday with a 25-18, 25-19, 26-24 bi-district sweep of Killeen Ellison at West High School.

The top two volleyball teams in District 15-5A squared off inside MHS Arena on Friday evening, with a chance for Heritage High to tie city rival Midlothian High for the district title.

MESQUITE — The Heritage High School football team has already clinched a return to the Class 5A Division II playoffs with two games remaining. It appears the Jaguars have one more big fight remaining at the end of the regular season.

The expected showdown between Heritage and Crandall for the District 6-5A (Division II) championship was instead a showcase for the host Jaguars in all three phases of the game.

The Midlothian Lady Panthers are one match away from another outright district championship — but they will have to take on their crosstown rivals to get there first.
