The Midlothian Lady Panthers reached the 20-win mark on the season in Friday’s road sweep over DeSoto, but found the going tougher against a District 11-6A member as host Waxahachie pulled out a five set thriller, 16-25, 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 16-14, at Mike Turner Gymnasium.
The Heritage High School volleyball team is looking for better results in District 15-5A play this week after a pair of non-district losses.
ARGYLE — The Heritage Jaguars were able to keep pace with the Class 5A Division II No. 5-ranked Argyle Eagles during the first half of Friday night’s non-district game at Eagle Stadium, but the hosts steadily pulled away in the second half for a 49-24 win.
ARGYLE — The Midlothian Lady Panthers rolled through the competition on both Thursday and Friday in the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Tournament at Argyle High School, then settled for fourth place out of 24 teams after a pair of losses in the championship bracket on Saturday.
The Midlothian Panthers have gotten off to slow starts before, only to bounce back and finish with a great season.
