What a difference a year — and the addition of more students — make for Heritage High School’s football team. The Jaguars completely dominated Waco La Vega for three quarters of play on Friday night and settled for a 41-14 homecoming victory over the Pirates at MISD Multipurpose Stadium.
KILLEEN — The Midlothian Panthers trailed by four points at the intermission before rebounding in the second half for a 32-27 victory over Killeen Shoemaker on Friday night in the first District 4-5A (I) game of the season for both teams. Quarterback Chad Ragle completed 11 of 15 passes for 168 yards for two touchdowns, both of which went to Bryant Wesco.

CLEBURNE — It took just two plays and 40 seconds for Heritage High School to assert its complete dominance of Cleburne — and give head coach Eric Edwards his first victory. Senior running back Jason Barela slipped a couple of tackles and rambled 55 yards for an 8-0 advantage, and the beating continued from there in a 64-0 blowout win at Yellow Jacket Stadium that was HHS’ first as a Class 5A program.

The District 14-5A volleyball schedule has gotten off to a rough start for the Heritage Jaguars, with two more losses to drop the team to 0-3 in the circuit.
