The City of Midlothian extends an invitation to the community to attend a Grand Opening Celebration for its new City Hall and Library on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at 215 N. 8th Street.
The ceremony will include a performance by members of the all-city choir and other activities befitting such an historic event. Following the ceremony, guests will enjoy tours, refreshments, and a souvenir Christmas ornament specially designed to mark the occasion (one per family while supply lasts).
At 1 p.m., Midlothian’s Annual Christmas Celebration begins, featuring a holiday market, take-and-make crafts, selfies with Santa, food trucks, entertainment, and much more. To take place in Heritage Park, 234 North 8th Street, and along North 8th Street, festivities continue until 5 p.m.
At 6 p.m., the Movie Magic Light-Up Parade steps off from the 8th Street bridge with Midlothian’s former mayors serving as grand marshals. The parade travels south along North 8th Street, turns at West Avenue F and concludes at Overlook Drive.
