Mockingbird Wildflower Walk

Saturday, Sept. 20, 9-10:30 a.m.

Mockingbird Nature Park, 1361 Onward Road

A half-mile excursion of the nature park, guided by members of the Texas Master Naturalists, Indian Trail Chapter of Ellis and Navarro Counties. Participants will learn about the wildflowers, native plants, and animal life of the park. Closed-toe shoes, comfortable outdoor clothing, and insect repellent are recommended. These events are free and open to children and adults of all ages but be aware that most trails are natural surface.

Farm Heritage Day

Sunday, Sept. 21, 2-5 p.m.

Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm, 130 Cunningham Meadows Road, Waxahachie

Enjoy fun and educational events at the Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm, and support the mission of the farm to preserve and to promote public awareness and appreciation of the natural and farming heritage of rural Ellis County, Texas. Stronger Together: Business and City in Sync

Midlothian Conference Center, 1 Community Circle

Businesspeople who are part of an established company or have recently set up shop in Midlothian are offered an inside look at City of Midlothian programs, services, and resources geared to local business interests and needs. Among other things, program attendees will gain insights into the many ways Midlothian Community Development (MCDC) invests in community quality of life through support for projects like park lands and recreational facilities.

Lariat Bridge Club

Ellis County Preparedness Fair

Saturday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-noon

Railyard Park, 113 N. College St., Waxahachie

Join for a fun and informative day at the Ellis County Safety Fair, where families and community members can learn how to stay safe and be prepared before, during and after a disaster. Autumn Beats Concert Series: 4 Ever Young and the Reflections

4 Ever Young and the Reflections will turn back the clock with early rock-and-roll and doo-wop music from the 1950s. Food for purchase is available, but outside food and coolers are allowed. The events are free and open to the public thanks to sponsors Midlothian Community Development and Fidelis Senior Home Care.

Ellis County Art Association

First Baptist Church Waxahachie, 450 U.S. 287 Bypass

Ellis County Art Association meets the first Monday of every month (except for holidays). Meetings are free and open to the public and include an art demonstration.

National Night Out

Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6-9 p.m.

Midlothian Community Park, 3601 South 14th St.

Midlothian Police Department will sponsor 2025 National Night Out in neighborhoods across the city. Activities for the entire family include visits with first responders, bounce houses, emergency vehicles, emergency preparedness information, and free refreshments.
