The Ellis County United Delegation of Special Olympics, in conjunction with the Waxahachie Independent School District, will be hosting the North Texas Region Powerlifting Meet on Jan. 13 at Robbie Howard Junior High School, 265 Broadhead Rd., Waxahachie. Admission is free with competition starting at 10 a.m. There will be athletes from across North Texas represented and the meet will be a qualifying meet for the Texas Winter Games to be held in Bee Cave, Texas on Feb. 17.
